Whether you’re a health nut or not there are some basic things that you should be doing to take care of your health. These things are practical and you can think of them as the foundation of good health.
Just as you cannot build a house on a faulty foundation, ignoring these basic things will get you into trouble and have you running to the doctor at the most inconvenient times. However, if you have consistently good habits when it comes to these three things you will set yourself up to be a lot healthier.
Here’s a look at the building blocks of good health.
Get Checked
One of the things that you absolutely must make a habit out of is to get a regular checkup.
This checkup at least once per year is important because your doctor will be better able to understand the ins and outs of how your body works.
It also means that you will have a medical history in case you have to deal with a serious illness. There is even telemedicine available now and you can fill your prescription at an online pharmacy. Getting a checkup has gone into express mode.
One doctor that you should also not avoid seeing at least once or twice a year is your dentist.
Many people have a fear of the dentist and it literally makes them shake in their boots when they hear they have to be in a dental office. However, when you think of all the benefits you get by keeping your teeth healthy. It’s well worth it to try and overcome all your jitters.
Move Your Body
You have heard it said a million times but it cannot be said enough. It is important for you to get up and move.
Just having some activity where you move around for even 10 to 15 minutes a day is very beneficial for your health. It can be doing simple things such as walking or rocking your hips and spinning to your favorite country song.
As long as it gets you on your feet and takes your body out of its stillness, that’s a plus.
If you work from home it’s a good idea to get a standing desk so that you can get your body in an upright position instead of sitting all day at your computer. This is very beneficial for getting the circulation going and also for your overall health and posture.
Eat Right
This is another common piece of advice that you may hear all the time. However, although it is commonplace many people don’t follow this advice. Do not be one of those people.
You probably know all the things that are unhealthy for you and you should try to instill some type of discipline.
Become a smoothie expert and make healthy smoothies that contain fruits and veggies.
Cook healthy meals at home instead of ordering fast food all the time. This will ensure that you always have healthy meals on hand.
