Had enough of working hard? Not all jobs have to be physically strenuous or mentally challenging. In fact, there are some jobs out there that are very simple and stress-free.
But just what is the easiest job? This post takes a look at five contenders.
Personal shopping
Personal shoppers get paid to do other people’s shopping on their behalf. You get a list and you simply buy what’s on that list with money provided by the customer.
Typical customers include older people who may struggle to get out of the house and who are not savvy with online shopping. While some customers may demand shopping be done by a certain time, you’ll usually be able to carry out work at a leisurely pace.
There are more complicated versions of personal shopping such as sourcing out rare items or choosing people’s entire wardrobe for them. However, in its most basic form it usually just involves buying groceries written on a list.
Netflix tagging
Netflix taggers are pretty much paid to watch Netflix. They get assigned certain shows and movies and then must designate relevant tags to them based on the nature of the content.
While this may sound like a dream job for a TV lover, Netflix tagger vacancies unfortunately do not come up very often. And previous job ads have typically required some experience in the TV or movie industry in order to be considered.
House sitting
House sitters are paid to look after someone’s house while the occupants are not there (usually while on vacation or while working abroad for a while). You’ll usually have to carry out basic maintenance such as watering plants, feeding pets, mowing the lawn and maybe some dusting.
Some people pay house sitters to stay overnight in their house while they’re away, and pay a lot of money for doing so. This often involves getting to stay in large and luxurious homes, while being allowed to use the facilities. And you may only have to do half an hour of ‘work’ per day in the form of some simple upkeep. It might not be one of the highest paid jobs but it may even be possible to work other remote jobs while getting paid to housekeep.
Sofa testing
As a sofa tester, it’s possible to get paid simply for sitting on a sofa. You get to keep the sofa in your home and after a period of time you have to write a report outlining the sofa’s comfort and practicality.
These jobs don’t come up very often and expectedly get a lot of applications. However, they’re worth looking out for if you’ve been looking for an easy way to make some money – especially if you’re been thinking of getting a new sofa.
Line standing
Line standers are paid to stand in queues on behalf of customers – and they can earn quite a lot of money per hour. Such queues typically involve events such as autograph signings and product launches where people may camp out early in the morning or even overnight to get access.
You basically just have to stand in line to reserve a place for the customer. Check out this guide to line standing for more information on exactly what it entails and how to make a living from it.
